Apple iPhone users love to flaunt their devices and a lot of them also like to share those pictures they click with them. Those with the newest iPhones perhaps do it more than others. Well, for all those iPhone users there’s a chance to win a gold bar and other goodies with those flaunt worthy photos. The iPhone Photography Awards are now accepting entries.
There are a few things to keep in mind for those who want to send their pictures. Photos should not be published previously anywhere and should’ve been clicked by an iPhone or iPad. The posts on personal accounts (Facebook, Instagram etc.) are eligible. The photos should not be altered in any desktop image processing program such as Photoshop. However, contestants can use iOS apps to edit those pictures.
Users can use any iPhone to click images and can also use add on lenses. As per the competition website, “The submissions must be in the original size or not smaller than 1000 pixels in either height or width.”
The categories under which images can be submitted are: Abstract, Animals, Architecture, Children, Floral, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature, News and Events, Panorama, People, Portrait, Series (3 images), Still Life, Sunset, Travel, Trees, Other.
What you will win if your image is selected
There are 18 gold bars up for grabs, which will be handed over to the 1st place winner of the 18 categories.
The 2nd and 3rd place winners of the 18 categories will win a palladium bar. The IPPA Photographer of the Year will receive an iPad Air, with the top three winners receiving an Apple Watch Series 3.
A jury will review all entries and judge images on the “basis of artistic merit, originality, subject, and style”
The catch, however, here is that it’s not a free-entry contest. Users have to pay the following sum of money: for 1 image:$3.50, 3 images:$9.50, 5 images:$15.50, 10 images:$29.50, 15 images:$45.50, 20 images:$57.00, 25 images:$65.50.
So if you think you have a ‘winner’ and are willing to take a punt with certain amount of money, you might just win a gold bar.
This is the 13th edition of the awards and the deadline to submit images is March 31, 2020.
